Choosing a USDT Network: Token Identity, Fees and Deposit Compatibility
Check the asset, network and recipient requirements together, and avoid assuming that a familiar USDT symbol or address proves deposit compatibility.

USDT is available through multiple blockchain protocols. Choosing “USDT” on its own therefore does not identify the complete payment route. A deposit requires agreement between the sending service and the receiving service about which network and token are supported.
Tether's official protocol list provides token identifiers and distinguishes supported from deprecated protocols. That list identifies Tether's arrangements; it does not independently confirm the cashier settings of a particular casino.
Begin at the recipient, not the cheapest-looking sender option
Open the recipient's current deposit instructions and record the exact asset and network. Then check that the sending wallet or exchange offers the same route. Do not choose a cheaper network first and assume the recipient will discover the transfer elsewhere.
For example, Ethereum, Tron and Solana appear in Tether's protocol documentation. Availability there does not establish that all three are accepted by an operator. A route is usable only when the actual sender and recipient support the intended transfer.
Verify the token, not just its symbol
A token name or symbol can be copied. Compare the relevant identifier with the issuer's official information and the recipient's instructions. Use a verified source reached directly, rather than a contract address supplied by an unsolicited message.
Do not copy a contract identifier from this article as a permanent reference. Protocol support and recipient requirements can change. The purpose of the check is to identify the correct current token, not to memorise an address detached from its source and date.
Address appearance is not sufficient
Some networks can use similar-looking address formats. That resemblance does not establish that a service watches or credits both networks. Conversely, an address incompatible with a sending network may be rejected before a transaction can be submitted.
Distinguish those cases from a valid on-chain transfer that the recipient does not support. The latter can exist in an explorer without producing a casino account credit. An explorer record and an accepted deposit are different pieces of evidence.

Record the minimum deposit, any additional memo or identifier, the expected crediting conditions and whether the displayed instructions are still active. If a service supplies an address for the transaction, use that current instruction rather than an old screenshot.
Ask support through the verified account channel when the labels are ambiguous. Keep the answer and transaction instructions. Do not send first merely because the same currency worked at another service.
Distinguish network fees from service charges
The wallet or exchange should show what the sender pays and what amount is expected to reach the destination. These can differ if charges are deducted. A recipient minimum must be checked against the relevant credited amount, not simply the number initially typed into a form.
Solana's fee documentation identifies SOL as the fee asset for Solana transactions. That statement is not a fixed fiat fee for every USDT route. Check the wallet's actual fee requirements and any intermediary withdrawal charge instead of assuming the token balance alone pays every cost.
A test can answer a limited question
Where appropriate, a small test transfer can establish that the selected route worked for that particular transfer. It must still meet any recipient minimum; sending less than a documented threshold is not a meaningful compatibility test.
A successful test does not guarantee that a later changed address, different token or altered network support will work. Repeat the relevant checks before a larger transfer. Also consider whether the extra transfer introduces costs that outweigh its usefulness.
If a transfer is not credited
Preserve the network, token identifier, transaction reference, recipient address, amount and time. Confirm that the transaction exists on the intended network. Ask the receiving service whether it recognises the route and what its recovery policy is.
Do not promise recovery: it depends on actual control and service capability. Nor should an unknown “recovery specialist” receive a wallet secret. MetaMask's safety guidance explains the importance of protecting recovery phrases and permissions.
The reliable decision is a matched payment route with documented requirements. A cheap fee, recognised symbol or familiar address is only one detail in that decision, not proof that the deposit will be accepted.
